Hialeah Park Racing & Casino

Spend The Day At Hialeah Park Racing & Casino Watching Horse Racing

At Hialeah Park Racing & Casino, you may go back in time and enjoy a taste of early American grandeur. This South Florida institution has long been known as "The World's Most Beautiful Racecourse," because of its 200 acres of beautiful landscaping.

This Hialeah locale, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is home to a racetrack, a casino, and the Audubon Bird Sanctuary. Hialeah Park Racing & Casino is a unique social experience that combines historic Hialeah with modern-day Miami.

Hialeah Park Racing & Casino's History

When Hialeah Park Racing & Casino originally opened on January 15, 1925, it only featured a one-mile dirt track, a clubhouse, an administration building, and 21 horse stables.

The track was damaged after the Great Miami Hurricane of 1926, but racing enthusiast Joseph Widener purchased it in 1930 and spent millions to rebuild it and refurbish the entire site. After touring famous racetracks in Europe and North America with architect Lester Geisler, Widener opened Hialeah Park Racing & Casino in 1932, incorporating the best of what the pair observed.

Today, you'll discover tree-lined walkways and stairs evocative of Ascot and Deauville, an administration building built like a French chateau, a walking ring based after Longchamp, tunnels inspired by Epsom Downs, and terraces and balustrades modeled after Monte Carlo.

Hialeah Park Racing & Casino is becoming more popular than ever. It reopened in 2009 with a newly rebuilt 200-acre facility that includes quarter horse racing, numerous restaurants, and a state-of-the-art casino.
